The Word made flesh is Christ in the Incarnation.  The universe was created through the Word and since He assumed our material nature the compatability between the Word and Creation is complete. In other words, the Divine, in Christ, can now be expressed in material terms. Just as everything in Creation can be given a meaning with reference to man its noblest creature(ideally)we are now challenged, as the stewards of the material world to “name” all things in reference to the Word now made flesh.  So even though Creation reflects the Word in the intention of the Father, it is not until man recognizes the Word in creation that the Word is part of “man's universe”. It is Christ's desire unto death to be in “man's universe”. Human recognition of God's unconditional, outpouring, “crucified” Love for Man in the Gift of Creation is the first and foremost function of the Sacred Arts.

The Love made Image is the act of espressing oneself. This refers primarily to Heavenly Father expressing His Being in the Son. All other acts of Creation including our own are analogies to the Divine Expression of His Being in His Image, the Son. Sacred art is a synchronizing of the human act of creation with the Divine creativity, because it is animated by a LOVE which, being directed entirely to the Word, is identical(in nature) to the Father's own Love.

Seeking the Word in Love. Ultimately the “quest” of Sacred Art is motivated by Love of the Word. But the journey itself is a direction in which the Word is made clearer, so that what begins by faith and love results in discovery which in turn deepens the faith and the love.  Also it is in the ability to empty himself into Other, that man bears God's Image and likeness. Therefore it truly is IN the Love, made Image(Sought or expressed in Sacred Art), that the Word is found.
